Tatton TV & Film 2019 Update…

Another cracking year is well underway for the Tatton TV & Film team.

The North Range workspace at Tatton Studios is growing and growing. Paul Watson and his team at Bella Design and Marketing (https://bella.design/) joined us just before Easter and are very happy bunnies. They’ve added Radio 6 to the musical landscape of the office and can often be spotted taking their lunch break in stripy deck chairs on the lawns of Ashley Hall. We love the North Range being our HQ – the people, the space, the fresh air and the creativity – it’s the perfect combination.

Life on the doorstep of the North Range has become busier too with the return of CBBC’s The Worst Witch who returned to film their fourth series with us at Tatton Studios. After a month of preparation, filming commence earlier this month and the circus came to town as usual with the arrival of the unit base. We love seeing the site in full swing with cast, crew, tenants of the North Range and staff from the unstoppable Location Buddha/Event Buddha. And there’s even a dog show setting up on the showgrounds as we type!

Over the winter our studios had a little face lift and now have sparkling new façades complete with snazzy lights along the roof line – believe us, it looks FAB. We’ve also flattened and extended the studio curtilage around the buildings allowing even easier access with props, set and kit, and the ability to bring vehicles even closer.

Further afield, the Locations business is skipping along delightfully. This year so far we’ve enjoyed return visits from Bancroft (ITV), Coronation Street (ITV) and Hollyoaks (Lime Pictures). We love welcoming production back to our locations, especially when it means seeing familiar faces! We’re very lucky to work with Location Managers – they all seem to have loveliness in their blood. They are a joy to work with and we’re always happy to see their names flash up on our phones.

New friends a’plenty have been heading our way too with lots of exciting scouting taking place – on the Tatton Estate but also with some very cool new Third Party Locations. We’ve been rubbing shoulders with some of the elites of the feature film and high-end drama world, piling them into the big red landy and heading off into the distance armed with a flask of tea and a fresh packet of chocolate hobnobs.

Having recently secured some brilliant (and naughty!) filming for the new Warp Productions show we’re very much looking forward to their visit and can’t wait to spill the beans when it airs. It’s going to be a HOOT.
